Description
My version of the FarFire LRM - it is not canon!
Deployment:
To be found in the AS7-D Atlas BattleMech - in a Maxi (20) rack
The same rack is used on the Hunter Light Artillery Tank.
Both launch systems use a system of 10 revolvers with 4 missiles each.
The FarFire is also fired by the JES II Strategic Missile Carrier and the JES III Missile Carrier - both uses heavy racks (15)
Finally the old Manticore also uses a medium rack (10)
Creation
There were two difficulties
The next issue were the huge weight of the launcher. It is known that missile doesn't need huge and heavy launchers. So the solution was to use a proppelant charge like on a gun to expell the missile from the launcher.
With a heavy receiver there shouldn't be the problem with the exhaust too.
- Guidance:
- Inertial;
- Communicator Guided;
- SALCOS
- Weight: 50kg
- Diameter 166mm
- Length 175/205mm
- Warhead: 17.5kg -
- SubAmmunition Rockets
- HEDP
- FASCAM
- ICM
- ILLUM
- SMOKE
- Range ~18km

Creation
There were two difficulties
- first I needed to have 2ton ammunition for the Atlas and Hunter; 6t for the Jes III 9t for the JesII. 1t for the Manticore.
- The Artwork of the JES II did show 20 missiles per rack and each looked very huge
